I grew up collecting Bobbsey Twins books, Hardy Boys books, Nancy Drew, and later, Cherry Ames. And of course those Little Golden Books with the beautiful painterly illustrations. I wish I still had them. I loved seeing them on my bookshelf, spines perfectly aligned and “in order”. I loved the feeling of completeness having all the books in a series provided.I loved knowing all there was to know about the characters in each series.
